Performer Colton Ford Passes Away at 62

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. — Performer Colton Ford reportedly passed away on May 19 following unconfirmed reports that he was involved in a hiking accident. Ford was 62.

Born in Pasadena, California, Ford began working in the adult industry in 2001.

While Ford starred in more than a dozen adult films during his 22-year career, he also appeared in mainstream movies, such as the romantic dramedy "The Next Best Thing," starring Madonna and Rupert Everett.

An established musician, Ford also appeared in the music video for Cyndi Lauper's 2008 single "Into the Nightlife" before touring with the singer that same year.

Additionally, he appeared in multiple stage productions and was the subject of the 2005 documentary "Naked Flame."

A number of Ford's friends and colleagues paid tribute to him on social media.

"It is with great sadness I share word of the passing of my friend, who you may have known as porn star and singer Colton Ford," wrote fellow performer Dallas Steele. "Few details have been shared, but sources say he died from an accident on a hiking trail in Palm Springs. Glenn was such an amazing spirit. Always thinking about what he planned to do next. Always optimistic about the possibilities. I will miss him and his great smile."

"RIP to my former client, actor/singer/songwriter Colton Ford," wrote Bill Coleman, who worked with Ford from 2007 to 2014 on several albums. "We remained proud of the work we did and the art created. Heartfelt condolences to his many friends, family, and fans."

"I’m so shocked and saddened to hear and report the sudden passing of my friend and icon Colton Ford," added Chi Chi LaRue on Facebook. "You will be missed. Keep singing in heaven."
